About the role

At Pepco, we’re growing fast and building our Tech Hub in Porto to support our business across Europe.

We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will support the implementation and operation of data governance policies, standards, and controls across the organisation, as well as enable trusted, consistent, and compliant data usage by ensuring data is properly defined, managed, and monitored throughout its lifecycle.

If you like things simple, practical and with real ownership, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain and enforce data governance policies, processes, and standards across data domains and business functions.
  • Support the development and management of business glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
  • Ensure data ownership, stewardship, and quality accountability are defined and operational.
  • Monitor compliance with data quality rules and escalate issues where required.
  • Coordinate data classification, access controls, and handling guidelines aligned to legal, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to data issue management, remediation tracking, and root cause analysis.
  • Support data governance awareness campaigns, training, and adoption initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT, business users, and product teams to ensure governance requirements are integrated into new and existing systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of audits, regulatory reporting, and internal assessments.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Data governance, privacy, or risk certifications is a plus.
  •  2+ years in a data governance, data quality, or data stewardship role.
  • Experience in structured governance environments or large organisations.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, roles, and tools.
  • Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and stewardship tools.
  • Basic understanding of data quality measurement and remediation processes.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Good stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional and decentralised environments.
